‘does she take sugar?, Jean Butler’s first solo program, is an intimate dance piece which investigates a provocative new movement language derived from the lexicon of traditional Irish dance and placed in a contemporary setting. Through the use of text, film, sound and silence, an abstract narrative is presented that challenges the audience to expect the unexpected.’
